Join our new Musical Director, Cole Bendall, for an inspiring day that explores the rich heritage of choral music alongside the energy and imagination of today’s composers.

Working through a carefully chosen programme spanning over 400 years, the workshop will explore not only the music itself but the skills that bring great choral singing to life: beautiful, well-supported tone, rhythmic vitality, expressive communication, stylistic flexibility and confident ensemble singing.

We are particularly pleased to include Indigo in an SATB version, which was commissioned jointly by the SPC, Reigate & Redhill Choral Society, and Cole Bendall, giving participants the opportunity to explore an exciting contemporary work with a unique connection to the choir.

Throughout the day, Cole will focus on developing the qualities that define outstanding choral performance: singing with freedom and technical assurance, communicating the meaning of the text, and responding sensitively to different musical styles. Alongside vocal technique, singers will refine the ensemble skills that elevate a choir—from attentive listening and unified presentation to musical awareness and expressive delivery.

This workshop reflects Cole’s vision of a modern choir: one that honours the great works at the heart of the choral tradition while embracing contemporary music with equal commitment, curiosity and artistry.
